Tone Den is a new service that that helps you share your music with other producers and hooks you up with a sweet site that packs all your social media into one place, and you can get a premium account for life courtesy of adapted or ill gates. The biggest draw is their community feature, which has some really useful aspects to it: 1. If you get followed on ToneDen, you instantly get followed on SoundCloud ?2. Your posts are seen by 100% of your followers 3. You don't have to compete with viral cat videos for attention The premium version (which is available for free, for life via these codes) gives you advanced analytics, a custom website, and a professional press kit. Here's the offer from my favourite Glitch Hop label - Adapted Records - who i suggest you buy something from or at least follow them to say thank you. Waves make a load of high quality analogue style mixing, mastering and live sound vst plugins, and they currently have their annual black friday sale on with a cool free renaissance bass plugin to download. Their stuff is pretty pricy, but currently they have massive discounts, so if there's anything you've had your eye, now's the time. From what i remember from last year their offers go on for a few weeks, but i think they might change over the period, so worth keeping an eye on their site or the emails. For this weekend, they are also offering up a free copy of their renaissance max bass plugin, which basically adds low end in where you need it, and comes in really handy for phattening stuff up for soundsystems, or for dialling in specific low frequencies. This video below gives a pretty cool overview, and you can grab it from this link here until...

This month's tutorials feature a great breakbeat masterclass from Tommy D (Ctrlz Z/Skism) and a wicked free analyser which has really helped define that solid kick and the snare starting point, as well as mixing the kick and the bass so they sit well together. Following last months tutorials, and in particular the information about getting that kick and snare sitting in their rightful place, i went searching for a better analyser. I was using abletons built in one but i really wanted something bigger and more versatile. After trying out a fair few demos of favoured one like Roger Nichols Xl Inspector and Blue cat I found Voxengo Span. This is a free audio analyser thats not only nice and clear but also allows you to view 2 channels at once (e.g the kick and the bass) After watching this tutorial on how to use it (dont be put off by the fact its trance production like i was - its easily the best how to ive found for span) i was then able to really produce my tracks and deal with any of the issues of conflicting frequencies that i was facing previously As a starter dish, i would also like to put forward one of the best masterclasses i have seen. Tommy D from Ctrl Z/Skism offering up a very thorough, honest and engaging walkhrough of how he remixed the freestylers track - Ruffneck. How it relates to Span analyser is that I remember when i first watched this it covered really well how to get those phat kicks and punchy snares hitting at the right...
